Wm. Knabe Co. established in Baltimore, MD 1839.
This old American company made a fine instrument in the day this piano was built.

Some time ago it was rebuilt with a new pinblock, tuning pins and strings. The tuning is up to concert pitch and quite stable with a beautiful sound.

The action was rebuilt with new hammers/shanks/flanges. It has been regulated and plays well. The original ivory keys and ebony sharps are an added bonus.

The case could be stripped and refinished.... but this is why the cost is low.
